1.1Passport or travel document with validity not less than 6 months with TWO blank pages
1.2A complete visa application form filled in and signed by the applicant
1.3Two recent colour photographs of the applicants as per the specification:
**3.5 x 4.5 cm, not older than 3 months with white background, face and eyes in direct position to the camera,
without sunglasses or hat, except for religious beliefs or ethnic background.
1.4Confirmed inbound ticket to Thailand
1.5Residence Permit & Proof of residence in India (if not an Indian national)
2Evidence from an organization in Thailand
2.1Letter of Invitation or Letter of Acceptance from an organization to the applicant with details of the
applicant’s roles and responsibilities. The volunteer work must be without salary.
2.2Letter from the organization in Thailand, requesting the Royal Thai Consulate General, Kolkata to issue
an appropriate visa for the applicant with details of the applicant’s roles and responsibilities, together
with a copy of the ID card (Thai national) or passport (foreign national) of the person signing the letter.
2.3Copy of Certificate/License of the organization establishment issued by the authority concerned.
Certified true copy by the authorized person.
2.4Letter from the head of the Department, government agency, or state enterprise requesting for the
applicant’s voluntary activity, or by the head of any other government agency that oversees or shares
missions with the organization/NGO.
2.5If the applicant was previously issued a Volunteer Non-Immigrant O visa, he/she must also present a
certification letter for a foreign volunteer issued by a relevant government agency.
3Financial Evidence
3.1Bank Statement for the last six (6) months with a minimum balance of Rs 20,000

Please provide two recent photograph (not more than 6 months old) of yourself, which should not have been used previously in the passport. The photograph should be in colour and:

  • Taken against a white background so that features are distinguishable and contrast against the background.
  • Clear share quality and with the 80% face in focus.
  • Printed on normal photographic paper (camera print).
  • Full face, non-smiling [without glasses, a hat/cap or other head covering, unless the applicant wears such items because of their religious belief or ethnic background]
  • Please stick the Photograph on the Visa Application Form.
  • Note: Please follow these instructions carefully. If photographs presented do not meet these requirements your application will be considered incomplete. A photo booth meeting these requirements is available at the centre.

Processing Time

The normal visa processing period of the Consulate is 4 working days. Granting the decision of visa application is at complete discretion of Consulate.
